It’s now been more or less a week now since Comiket 76 and things are slowing down as the excitement fades. Releases are down to a trickle on Share, and while there’s still a veritable mountain of stuff I haven’t even touched still on there my download cap is reaching it’s limit (far into deficit, actually) so at this point I more or less just pop on to see if I can spot anything that catches my eye. A fair few things are still missing though with Kraster, O-Life Japan and Cis-Trance among others having not shown up at all, while -en- (which I talked about in an earlier post) has only shown up as a 192kbps rip. One can only hope that in the days and weeks to come that these too will appear.
For now though it’s time to relax a bit and enjoy some of the tunes that I’ve grabbed; with roughly 80 albums though it’ll take a fair while before I’ve heard it all. Hopefully once I’ve found out which ones I like I’ll be able to locate somewhere where I can pick up some legit copies if there are any left, would be great to own them. There won’t be too much time to relax though, as September is just around the corner and that means it’ll be time for the Fall season anime to arrive and go back-to-back with C76 in continuing to squeeze my download cap as I launch into some reviewing. Thank goodness I’ve taken holidays for next month!

Day 2 is over and as expected some of the most expected releases have hit the internet, bring many cries of joy from the assembled. Touhou 12 – Undefined Fantastic Object and 12.3 – Unthinkable Natural Law are both out along with Scarlet Symphony (Touhouvania), Umineko 5, Shuffle! Navel and a bunch of other big names that slip my mind at the moment. The music side of things has heated up too with CROW’SCLAW, k-waves LAB, HARDCORE TANO*C, Sonic Hybrid Orchestra, UI-70 and [insert SHIT-JIS characters here >:(] all passing through my hands, with stuff from D’va;;;;;;;;5, Diverse System, EXIT TUNES and EXIT TRANCE sighted but on hold until I hit my offpeak download quota (let’s hear it for Australian internets).
Things haven’t been all smooth sailing though with DoujinStyle going down early in the day only to resurface later with a notification that its account had been revoked, a bad sign indeed. My well-layed encoding plans also went out the window – with releases either already in MP3 or in TTA – neither of which I could use Exact Audio Copy for, so after a bit of embarressed head-scratching and a quick run around I threw foobar2000 onto my computer and ripped them that way. All in all though it’s been another set of enlightening experiences.
A side note about UFO: it’s drawn a fair bit of flak over it’s characters from all the people who have seen/played it and I have to agree, they fall short of the level people have come to expect from ZUN, which is dissapointing to see. :(

The first day of Comiket is finally under way and everyone is rumbling in anticipation of the promised goods to come. So far there’s only a handful of legitimate releases on Share hidden amongst a swarm of fakes, which while annoying is to be expected I guess with an event like this. I still can’t help but to feel pumped about the music to come, and the wait gives me time to get my gear in order and write up some more code / polish the code I already have to help when things get busy.

Glee. It’s that time of the year again – Comiket time – and the internets are sure to light up again with all the goodies that this otaku mecca delivers event after event. On my part Touhou stuff will be dominating my mind, most especially the doujin music that I’ve come to love over the past year to the point where it now dominates my music collection. Beyond that the only other particular thing I will be after is the second episode of the fan-made Touhou anime, can’t wait!
