Almost a year since the last post, nice.
Not that this post is anything to get excited about though, I logged in to clean up a few things on the server really but eventually wound up in my WordPress control panel and decided to update it, clean away a few post, and maybe think about what to do with it all. Oh, and to have a ramble too.
I find myself as all over the place as usual, with my time largely taken up by work, gaming, fansubbing, assorted projects, and then whatever crap happens to hold my attention at the time. Stuff gets done, stuff doesn’t get done, such is my life.
It was during my trip to Japan in ’08 that I started up my blog originally (not that I ended up posting then, but that’s ok) and now I’ll be returning to that country that produces so much stuff we love at the end of the year, both for general sight-seeing as well as to attend my first Comiket. It should be a great time, four full weeks over there including Christmas and New Years to spend money and soak up the culture, or some-such; good times anyway.
And for 2011? Hopefully I can set myself up some sort of plan for the future and stick to it.
The past two weeks have seen a number of things happen, most relevant amongst them being the complete and utter lack of any blogging on my behalf. I guess the foremost amongst them would be that it’s fairly typical of me, I grab hold of things and have plenty of energy to start off with but after a while I fade out rather badly unless there’s enough motivation there.

It’s been about a year and a half since I put this blog up – it was originally meant to be for my trip to Japan last year – and only now am I actually putting some content in it. Originally it was due to a bit of laziness (as well as being in another country and, you know, being preoccupied with touristing) and after that it sort of got left behind when I realised I didn’t actually have anything exciting to talk about. Well, maybe now I’ve decided on what I can do.
Anime, of course! Well, to be more specific I thought I’d do some reviews and such on the current season’s anime and the groups subbing them; mainly it would involve grabbing the first episode of each series/OVA/etc at the start of the season, watching through it, and then reporting back on how it – and how good the sub group – is. Iffy at this stage as to how indepth I’ll go, but for certain there would be a “this season at a glance / for dummies” post that lumps everything into teirs so that those who are unsure as to what’s out there – and more importantly what to actually get – can figure out what’s up fairly quickly.
First cab off the rank will be Fall Season – that’s September / October / November for those of us on the better half of the hemisphere – and after flicking through what’s slated to be released I can’t say I’m really looking forward to it. There’s a fair slab of romance / shoujou type stuff on offer, though a few glimmers of hope in the form of sequels and epics look like they’ll tide me through. I’m trying to be nice and ‘objective’ about things here, as I think it’d be a good idea to not start out the whole blogging gig by slagging genres I don’t give a damn for, even if I, well, actively hate them. Let’s see if I can keep that up when I have to sit through 24 minutes of them :D
